Post three - Worst case scenarios and how to avoid them…
Ok what are our options in some worst-case scenarios when it comes to hiring a videographer and how do you protect yourself?
One big fear is that the videographer is a no show or cancels last minute. The solution here is to make sure the videographer has a clause in the contract that if they pull out before the wedding for any reason other than an unavoidable adverse circumstance (e.g they get severe food poisoning the night before), that they find a replacement videographer for you who is of the same skill level. In the case of an unavoidable complication, at least make sure that it is agreed you will get a refund!
Check the videographer is not rocking up to your wedding with only one camera. For obvious reason this is a big no no and is indicative of an amateur just starting out. If any number of problems befall that one camera, then you are stuffed!
Check if the videographer is offering some sort of guarantee on their work in case you are not 100% satisfied with your video. If they don’t offer one, then ask yourself why aren’t they? If a videographer believes in their ability to film and edit a good wedding video, they should be absolutely fine with backing that up with a guarantee. Now this could be in the form of a round of revisions to the edit for free, or some form of refund if you really are not happy with the end product.
If you follow and implement these quick tips then you should be able to avoid any big issues with your wedding film!
